[ Snom on her shoulder, Rose walks through Cherrygrove City curiously. Traveling felt natural but everything else? Strange. Apparently, this little thing on her content to crawl all over was called a 'pocket monster' if the translation was correct.
Of course, she'd been told something else interesting that she wants to ask the network of offworlders like her about: ] So, a local told me that we can name these little guys whatever we want. [ As she speaks, she reaches a hand back and up to rub the top of the Snom's head. It nuzzles up into her touch. Naming them seems like a recipe for disaster when the apparent average age of new trainers is usually ten. Still- ] How did you decide to name yours? And why did you?
I'm not sure what to name mine, I guess, and it feels like a kind of big decision.
union cave.
Ow, fu-
[ Thankfully, the swear is cut short by the last minute rememberance that there are many more children present than there aren't. Still, the blond hisses as she runs a hand against her scraped knee.
Night vision was a passive ability she'd gotten used to having. Make no mistake, she's thrilled to be functionally human, but the adjustments might take some time. She feels along a rocky cave wall carefully, whispering to her Snom: ]
You couldn't be a glow worm, huh? That'd be too convenient.
[ She touches something more organic and pauses. The creature - a Zubat - gives a sudden shrill shriek that causes Rose to yell in surprise back at it. All the commotion and wings flapping of now many alarmed Zubats is followed by a bit of immediate disoriention. It lands Rose sitting on the dusty cave floor and quietly saying from the dark: ]
This place freakin' blows.
azalea town.
Oh. My. Gods. This may be the best thing I've ever seen.
[ She is speaking, of course, of the absolutely adorable pink blob in front of her staring blankly into the fifth dimension. ] It's amazing. Perfection.
Slooowwww...?
It's called a Slowpoke. [ As if the person she's speaking to may not realize the treasure they are currently witnessing. ] I want so many of them. Can I get just Slowpokes? Is that allowed? It should be. Look at them.
[ The Slowpoke has only now begun to tilt its head curiously, just as confused about this interaction as apparently everything else around it. ]

RE: Network post - [Video] UN: CheckTheSyllabus
Indeed you can. This one here I named Breakfast. I also have Clippy [ He aims the camera at a Null who is lounging on the floor. And then to a Shinx. ] And this is Mister Mitri.
I haven't seen that kind before. What is it? It's so cute...
no subject
She worries a little more now about giving her Snom a good enough nickname. ]
Well, hello to all of you! My name's Rose, by the way, and this is called a Snom. [ ... Wait. ] Snow worm. Snom. I just got that.
It just got, like, ten times cuter.
no subject
[ Oh. A Snom. Snow Worm. Wow. The corner of his mouth twitches a little bit over that. ]
I love it. Look at it's little face... if it were mine, I would name it-
[ Pause. He's thinking. ]
Little Guy.
[ God he's good at this. ]
no subject
Little Guy, huh? [ A look to the Snom to see how it responds. It gives a small, seemingly approving response. ] Well, that can be a placeholder nickname unless I think of something else. Better than just calling it 'dude.' [ Though, it didn't seem to mind that either. ]
You seem to be settling in well though since you already got some other friends.

Azalea
So there she is, in her Rotom-powered wheelchair, stopped from progressing down the sidewalk by an overly large-- and overly slow-- Pokemon who seems to have captured the hearts and minds of the people today.
Rainer beams, laughing brightly at this strangers enthusiasm. ]
It's like a bright pink quadrupedal sloth! [ ... ] Well, I mean, sloths are already quadrupedal, but they don't usually walk across the ground, do they?
no subject
[ A stare of complete adoration. ] It's so friggin' cute. [ She may just actually die. Rose saw one fishing with its tail earlier, too, and her desire to own one grew tenfold. ] I will have one.
Not this one because I guess he belongs to someone here in town but they said there's a well or something I can catch them in. [ S O O N. Exciting. Other than Snom, she hasn't felt quite so compelled to catch any other Pokemon until now. Finally, the blond manages to pull her attention away from her lazy new friend and- ]
Oh, shoot, sorry. Are we in the way? We're probably in the way. I don't think he's moving anytime soon but I can at least.
no subject
[ She's half tempted to bring Patches out just to show her off, but she just got done a big battle, so she's resting, and Rainer doesn't want to disturb her. ]
Oh, no, don't worry about it! I'm not in any hurry to get anywhere![ She holds her hands out for a shake. ] I don't think I've seen you around before. My name's Rainer!
no subject
I haven't, but that sounds friggin' adorable. A lot of these things are. [ Granted, that seems to be subjective. While she finds these empty-headed Slowpokes cute as can be, someone else might not. ]
If you're sure, [ she says, extending a hand to grab hers for a shake. Snom begins to squirm down her arm as if to meet Rainer's hand, too, curiously. ] But nice to meet you, Rainer. I'm Rose. Just got here myself not too long ago.

wildcard as discussed!
To a listener who knows what to listen for, the way he's practicing is diligent and focused, but he's no professional. Still, his technique is good - just relatively inexperienced.
The song has lyrics, but he's not singing; he's leaving that part to the Delcatty, for now.]
no subject
Your little friend's got some nice pipes, [ she says, smiling at the Delcatty that's belting out sound along with the strum of the guitar. ] But you're not half-bad either. How long you been playing?
[ Excuse her as she just sits right on down and makes herself comfortable. If anything can make her warm up to someone right away, it's music, so he'll have to excuse the familiarity before they've even officially met. Her Snom, current placeholder nickname designated as 'Little Guy,' peers curiously over her shoulder at the other Pokemon. He has a 'timid' nature, apparently, so he might be a little less quick to get used to them all. ]
no subject
Pipes? She's a cat.
[He almost tells the woman to go away and stop bothering him, but then he notices the instrument she's carrying and changes his mind.]
Not long. Six months, perhaps. I--
[Aaaand then she's sitting down. He doesn't say anything about that, but he does move over a little, slightly away from her, just to make a point. The Liepard yawns, as though this exchange bores her to tears.]
And you?
[He nods toward the guitar case on her back.]
no subject
Six months? I'd have guessed longer. [ Granted, she doesn't know if he's a quick study or not. He could be. At the nod towards her own instrument, she grins and unhooks it from her person to take out. Inside the case are pictures taped to the top but she closes it before he can get a good look at them.
Little Guy roams over her shoulder and down along her arm. He's careful not to poke with his ice spikes, which she appreciates. ]
I've been playing since I can remember, really. Over a decade, easily. I can play the piano and violin too. But my real strength is singing.

network - video - UN:Mikasa
[Just the most flat voice.]
no subject
She catches the wiggle of the one trying to push its head into her lap and the frame. ]
Didn't realize they could come named already. Granted, not a whole lot was explained besides, uh, I guess this is my buddy [ a point to Snom ] and I'm supposed to battle with him.
But, like, look at him. He's too cute and soft for battle.
no subject
The large pokemon lifted it's head slightly, red eyes peering out of that dented helmet. THEN BACK TO NUZZLING. Or shoving Mikasa around her seat.]
Someone named it before I got it. [Just patting them, the weird scaley dog thing. Even if she had to move to squint at the little pokemon.]
...What can he do? [He doesn't even have legs, how can he fight?] My first pokemon had knife-hands. [At least she could stab things to fight.]
no subject
Honestly? No idea. Eat snow, from what I've seen. And that's, uh. That's about it. [ He has spikes along part of his body made of ice and shielding the otherwise squish. ] I guess he could poke someone real hard?

He's still not a master of it, and the video's a bit shaky, but he's trying. There is also a Popplio on his lap trying to shove her face into the camera, which is decidedly not helping.]
I'll admit, I haven't been so... creative with names for my companions. Most of them have simply been names used in my homeland. This one here-- [He indicates the Popplio.] --I named Allegra.
no subject
Hey, that's still something! Inspiration from home. Maybe I could name mine after some famous musicians... [ Of course, 'famous' may be subjective. The idea of a Pokemon going by the name of 'Snoop Dogg' though is amazing. ] But more common names might not be a bad place to start either.
no subject
Both are good options, I think. They'd both be easy to remember.
no subject
So, you know, he kind of breaks the mold already. [ A beat, considering. ] Wait, how many of these things can we even have? I've seen, like, so many already.

Azalea
What is happening here? What's wrong with that creature?]
I suppose if you wanted to breed them...?
[Someone may or may not be reading up on breeding themselves alright. Have you seen some of these adorable creatures? Clearly the only justifiable reason to have a dozen of something is to breed them. His family has done it with horses (and roses) for generations.]
I don't know if that would be wise, however.
[If it's half as stupid as it looks surely making more of them would be cruel.]
no subject
I could make more of them? [ She doesn't hear the second part, thankfully, too enraptured with the idea of doofy pink baby Slowpokes. ] This is the best day of my life, I'm pretty sure. I may have found my calling.
Slow...poke?
[ Whether she's serious or not, the woman straightens up and looks up because, woah, okay. Tall. The Snom attached to her shoulder at this point also peers up at him curiously. ] Thanks for the suggestion, dude.
no subject
You... might want to learn more about them before you dedicate yourself to such a purpose.
[Please learn about these things before you start breeding them, Rosie.
But then he sees the pudgy little snom on her shoulder and his expression just melts.]
Oh! Who is this?
no subject
[ Impulsive decisions like this have always worked out for her.
(Absolutely not.)
Still, she finds it cute when his attention is drawn to her first friend here so easily. She extends an arm for him to crawl along and get a closer look at Lorenz. ] A Snom. Snow worm. Dude called Byleth nicknamed him 'Little Guy' and I kind of like it, so. Guess that's his name now.
