[If you're an unlucky individual, an unsuspecting one, you're probably a target. A target of what, you ask?

A target for thieves.

The thieves in question are a Sableye and a Sneasel that had been wandering through the crowd looking for unsuspecting targets. The Sableye, with it's odd Bismuth like eyes, was going about unnoticed, scoping out people and stopping near the ones that he found particularly good. The Sneasel, which had a much darker coat than normal and bright colored bands on its wrists, would then go into action, distracting the human allowing it's companion to swipe the goods.

Evolutionary stones, nuggets, pearls, heart scales--nothing is safe so don't be surprised if they make off with your shiny goods. Quick trainers may be able to follow them and would end up running into their trainer. The young man was dressed oddly, as most of the non-residents are, seated outside a cafe with a Murkrow on his shoulder and a lop-eared Buneary on the table drinking some Pokemon friendly tea.

The Sableye ducked under the table and out of sight with it's new goods while the Sneasel hopped up onto the table, quickly seating himself next to the Buneary as innocently as possible. Balthier glanced at the little imp then to the individual approaching, eyebrow lifting as his Murkrow snickered.]

In a bit of a rush, are we?

So I have heard all about the Legendary creatures roaming this world but I have to wonder: are there Legendary items or places as well?

[Just wondering. It has nothing to do with him wanting to try and find some good treasure hunts or bounties, anything like that.

[ It was queer, travelling with Balthier - but not in the bad way. Basch had gotten quite attached to it, in his own way - looking at the thieving Pokemon, with a slight bit of disapproval.

Of course, he did note the Sableye was gripping to a familiar necklace he'd gotten crafted out of a Star Piece - one he was to go and pick up soon. Something he'd need to go and sort out later.

But, for now, he looked to Balthier, with the slightest of disapproving looks. ]

[Ah, Olivine City. A nice oceanside city where almost everyone, from tourists to trainers to locals are out and about enjoying themselves now that the weather is warming up. With so many happy people milling around the beach and the pier, it might be easy to overlook one single person, but this person... certainly sticks out, as much as they don't want to.

It's not that they're doing anything odd, but their appearance... most people won't be wearing ankle-length black dresses in weather like this. Adding into how bone-thin they look and the shoddy cut of their pink hair... yeah, the kid certainly looks a bit odd. It also doesn't help that they seem to be talking to themselves.]

This is weird.... is this a dream? It can't be, I don't normally dream about nice things like this. People here are all happy and not screaming and running... [Their voice drops to a mumble.] I don't know why the others wanted me to come here, I don't think I belong in a place like this, it's too nice...

[They choke on a pathetic little whine as they hunch over, shoulders scrunched up and arms wrapping tightly around themselves.]

I don't know how to deal with this....

[Not everyone can get along with their partners. Pokemon, like people, all have their own personalities, and those personalities sometimes clash with others. That can sometimes lead to a little.... friction.]

[This child --Pieck is certain it is a child, of sorts, though certainly more spoiled and well-fed than the lot she generally sees-- is ridiculous. Even Pokko at his worst and most surly isn't as ridiculous at this. It'd be easy to let him be, perhaps let experience teach him that such attitudes don't tend to get many results, but then... where would the fun be in that?

Pieck messages laying in an odd tangle of limbs on what seems to be some sort of couch. Her long hair, while not unwashed, has been left to fall down to frame her slightly sallow face in loose tangles, as if her appearance isn't much of a concern to her. Visible, just at the edge of the frame, are a great quantity of greyish-brownish fur that is sharing the divan with Pieck (maybe a pokemon?) and a crutch leaning against the back of the couch.]

It is a little rude, bringing us all here like this. But maybe they just wanted to meet a stunning royal like yourself.

[ It can be pretty rough out there on the roads between towns, all tall grass, trainers, and wild pokemon. Generally if you have a good head on your shoulders and a solid team to back you up, there's nothing to worry about!
Well. Almost nothing.

There's a scuffle going on further into the treeline - a lot of PG-13 yelling at the tamest - so loud as to scare off a lot of the wild pokemon population.

A little further in and there's quite the scene: a nerdy-looking young man with glasses as thick as bottles arguing with a smaller blonde woman in all black (two guesses what organization she's part of), all wild gesticulating between what can be assumed as the Nerd's fainted team scattered around the clearing.

Panty (because hell yeah she's like an Ace Rocket Grunt ok) has a bored expression on her face that's somehow perfectly mimicked by a Salazzle at her side, crossed arms and all. A Krookodile looms menacingly over the Nerd where the trainer kneels protectively over one particular pokeball. ]

Yeah, yeah, I get it, shitheel. That's enough yapping. I've got other stuff to do. [ The angel crouches down to get on the Nerd's level, a shit-eating grin on her face as she crooks a finger in a come-hither gesture. ] You knew what you were getting into, got your ass kicked, and now you're gonna fork that fucker over. Unless you can pay up, capisce?

[ The Krookodile rumbles threateningly, snapping its jaws shut about a foot above the Trainer's head once with a clearly audible clashing of teeth to drive home Panty's threat.

Yep. That's definitely a robbery in progress. Is it a good idea to step in, or would it be better to notify the authorities? She might be long gone by then... ]

It just so happens that Eridan isn't exactly on the victim's side here, so his approach gives false comfort to the poor guy—until that flash of the infamous red R on his black sweater identifies all too clearly this rambunctious and foul-mouthed lady is far from not having back up.

Not that she needs Eridan's help, it's pretty obvious she has this, but Eridan can't help himself, because he loves when the helpless get stomped on. It's just part of his nature, ok!?]

If you know what's good for you, you'll depart with your shitty pokèmon, and scram. 'Less you lookin' to piss off more than me and she, gettin' a hoofbeast's eye right on your back—and when that happens? Except her Rufflet seems to be terrified of even a Bounsweet, which at first shivered in fear at the sight of a potential predator but...stopped when it realized that it wouldn't fight.]

Come on, Courage... [The Meister tries to coax her Pokemon, and yes the Rufflet's name is straight up Courage.] It's okay, just use a Peck attack.

[Courage squeaks instead of doing anything as the Bounsweet made a slight investigative move towards him, the small Pokemon retreats behind his trainer's legs shivering with fear.]

Aw...that's okay, we'll try again later. [Even the Bounsweet looks like she feels sorry for the scared little thing.]

[Now this is what Maka is all about--a vast library nearly on par with the Academy's, stuffed to the brim with all the information she could feasibly want about the world.

Of course, the problem is that Maka Albarn is, in fact, a short 14 year old girl. How will she solve the problem of wanting to get a book on a top shelf without inconveniencing anyone around her?

Climb right up, of course. It's...actually quite impressive how nimbly she climbs up.]

Got it! [That was totally worth it. Though now she'll have to judge how far she can drop down without hurting herself. Courage the Rufflet is, of course, flapping and flailing on one of the tables looking as worried as all get out about his trainer.]

His Rotom's message crossed the screen then quick as a flash, it shot across, zipping over into the woman's gear. A connection blinked across Fushimi's gear and the Pokedollars started transferring.

This wasn't his only intention though. He taps idly, as information darts across the screen. He taps the screen on the one he wanted. Level 75 Charizard.

Code flies across, the trade bar extending then--

There was an angry spark from the woman's gear which startled everyone. Fushimi taps the release button on the ball under his boot, rolling it forward. Bursting out was a Spearow which kicked up a wild gust.

As everyone covers their eyes from the whipping winds the Rotom zips back unseen, bouncing off the Pokeball for Fushimi to catch it.

They were out the door and followed shortly by the Spearow which returned to its ball.

I'm rather drawn to fire types due to my heritage as Princess of the Fire Nation, and dragons are intriguing in their own right.

So come forth and tell me about your strongest and best Dragon or Fire Type Pokemon. I want to know what your experience has been training them.

While Azula did not consider petty thievery beneath her...it did somewhat annoy her that she was forced to answer to someone who thought themselves her superior. Alas her options were not more enticing so she opted to play along with these so-called villains.

For now at least.

"I'll give you this one chance to surrender and hand over a pokemon. I would like to point out I am only demanding one pokemon so you may choose whichever one you like least. Isn't that reasonable?"

She thought it sounded so. But she also had her pokeball in hand for when they inevitably tried to put up a pathetic attempt at a fight.

"The alternative is to lose a fight with me and all the pokemon you're carrying." She took an aggressive stance trying to project the sort of confidence and chilling certainty that used to have grown military men flinching back from her.

"Well? What's it going to be?"

With a snarl and a kick Azula sent her Magikarp flying through the air only to slam into a tree and knock loose a metapod which began to wriggle and writhe on the ground.

"Can't you at least destroy THAT?!" She demanded pointing at the bug type who instantly began hardening his coat. Her Magikarp attempted to comply with an aggressive display of flopping around and gasping uselessly.

It may not have had any effect, but the look in it's eyes made it clear this Magikarp was DETERMINED to kill that Metapod who did not seem terribly impressed.

"I just don't understand what I am doing wrong. Every other pokemon has attacks, why are you just so...pathetic?" She sighed watching the comical display.

Perhaps you could give her some pointers, or train a different one of her pokemon.

It killed Cynthia to see somebody abusing their pokemon, even moreso because it was as 'pathetic' as Magikarp seemed to be. She'd seen the whole thing, and rushed over as soon as the thud of the pokemon hitting the tree had rung throughout their vicinity.

Skidding to a halt, Cynthia barely kept her balance as she stood between Azula and the other girl's Magikarp. "You can't just treat your pokemon like that! They're supposed to be your friends!"

Rose Marshall | Sparrow Hill Road

[GOING MY WAY?] Someone who looks like a teenaged girl in an old fashioned, 1950s-era green silk dress is walking along the side of the road, her thumb out in the classical American signal for I need a ride.

Is it completely useless to walk down an unpaved road with her thumb out? Yes, yes it is. But Rose has been a hitchiker for sixty-odd years. This is what you do, when you're getting from place to place. She gravitates towards the right margin of the road and her left hand curls automatically, her thumb extends. If she hears someone about to pass she'll likely raise that arm all unthinking, then scowl at herself and make her hand relax, but as long as she's walking chances are her hand will return to that position.

The rangy Absol walking by her side glances over now and then, but it's a cool Absol who's absolutely, totally worldly and used to the things humans do, and not worried at all about what is and isn't normal. Totally.

MY STRANGE ADDICTION: To be a hitching ghost is to always be cold, always be hungry, always be touch-starved, except when given the chance to borrow a living person's coat and vitality and fill those cravings. Of course, that borrowed life lasts only until the next sunrise, and those needs resurface, but here none of the restrictions seem to apply.

Rose would love to fall on this basket of cheeseburger and fries like she's starving, but she's eaten four times today already and her fully physical, breathing body protests more. So she picks at her food, savoring the gritty salt overlaying the grease, nipping at a bit here and there and nursing multiple cups of diner coffee. Sometimes she looks up and delivers that same avaricious, speculative anticipatory look at people, though she always quickly smooths that expression from her face and just studies them through her eyelashes.

THIS ISN'T THAT KIND OF GAME: The problem with not resetting to intangible after a maximum of twenty four hours? Being alive is messy and complicated and you need constant maintenance to keep your appearance nice, maintenance which Rose has fallen kind of out of practice with, though she's aware of how she should look, and smell for that matter. She rolls up into town with her hair an unwashed, fingercombed mess, stains and tears on her dress, old makeup smeared on her face, and Absol politely but very pointedly staying upwind.

"Who does a girl have to blow to get a shower around here?" she demands. Language, Rose!

The next person to come down the road is a man in a desert tan flight-suit with a No-Ghosts patch sewn into the shoulder. He's followed, almost orbited, by a Rotom, who he seems to be chatting animatedly with, even if only one of them can speak in a language the other finds intelligible.

"Is everything alright, ma'am?" Ray says, spotting Rose along the side of the road. "I don't think you're going to find too many vehicles on this road, but if you need to get somewhere quickly we can probably call someone."

I need a little advice. Every time I try to fall asleep my dreameater jumps on my chest to wake me up. And if it doesn't do that right away I wake up with it on my chest staring at me like it wants to eat me.

I've read what's been available to me thus far, but there still seems many a mystery involved with our monster friends. I have my theories, but they are fledgling, nearly baseless lines of thought.

Without missing a beat, Sidurgu releases his Sneasel onto the Rhyhorn, adequately distracting the monster from the tree. Taking the opening, he hurries to the trunk, looking up at Alphinaud, but staying aware of the fighting pokèmon not far from them.]

Climb down. We should take full advantage of the beast being distracted, whilst we can.

[You might just see a pair of brand spanking new running shoes hanging out from the bottom of any old tree on the trail. You just might if you look upwards. What is a guaranteed view, however, is the Deerling on the ground that's desperately trying to get the owner of said dangling feet to come down out of the tree by butting its head against the trunk. Not too roughly, of course. The Pokemon isn't foolish. But just hard enough that it makes a solid thunk that's enough to catch anybody's attention.]

Jean, stop! I told you I'll be down in a minute!

[Jean (that is the Pokemon formally known as Jean 2.0) does not care for this minute business. Can Pokemon even tell time? Whatever. In the end, it's clearly worried about its trainer that's battling against the Pidgey that's a few branches above her, strong beak wrapped around the strap of her bag. There's snacks in here! For humans and Pokemon both! It's determined not to let it go!]

You give that back! It doesn't belong to you! You can't go around stealing other people's belongings! That's rude!

[Says the girl who is constantly stealing herself, but that's for survival! totally different situation. This is one fat Pidgey who looks to be doing just fine on its own (nevermind it's probably a career criminal.) Sasha needs her bag back and no matter what this dumb bird or Jean 2.0 thinks, she's not leaving this tree until she gets it back.

[For most people, this isn't a familiar face. For others it just might be, it is because Sasha's been here before, only she had the stinking bad luck to get sent back home for a while, back to the world of death and destruction and worst of all in her eyes, constant hunger. So she doesn't look as bright faced and plump as she did while in Johto. Her hair is longer, in dire need of a trim, and tucked into a greasy ponytail, her face has lost whatever roundness it gained in this world and there are dark circles under her eyes from a lack of sleep. Not only could she use a nap, she could use a bath too.

In short, she looks a hot mess, but if you had to fight off a Titan that wanted to chomp on you with nothing but a single arrow, wouldn't you look terrible too?

But Sasha also looks to be an old hat at settling into this world, what with her Deerling curled up beside her, its head in her lap sharing space with an empty bento box, as she perches on a rock on one of the many routes in town. That Mom lady who is still convinced she's Sasha's mom sure makes good lunches, but they still aren't enough to fill her belly completely so that is why Sasha rolls a handful of Pokeberries into one of the compartments of the box and pokes a purple one with her fingertip.]

Just checking... we still can't eat these, right?

[At least this time she bothers asking before attempting to shove them into her mouth which for Sasha Braus is a sign of maturity. Or something like that.]

[A gentle smile and a curious tap to his chin.] A curious question of some sort to those. Many of the foods here resemble or are similar to what I am accustomed to, but they are still overall different. Is anyone else, perhaps, struggling a bit to acclimate to those changes? Mayhaps, I am merely homesick for a familiar meal that is custom to what I have grown up with.

I would love to know what workarounds that can be made as I am quite struggling with translating even the simplest of familiar cuisine to what is available here. [There's a small shake to his head and he laughs brightly.] I am not one to complain though and I would hate for it to sound like I do not appreciate everything here. I am quite enjoying it all! He has found that Mahogany town to be very beautiful and one of his favored cities for now.] I am experiencing a lot of new things! The terrain here is not something I am completely familiar with.

[Returning to what he made this recording in the first place-] I am merely curious, since there are so many from many different stars that are here now. I hope that you are all willing to indulge my curiosity for just a moment. If one could help me with updating recipes so that I can more easily procure ingredients; I would be incredibly grateful. [What’s definitely not normal is falling asleep in a hot, dry desert shack, and waking up in an honest-to-god bedroom. He tries not to think about the woman telling him to hurry up and leave or the food and bag she gives him. That’s fine, this is…. Fine? He thinks. Keith stumbles out and he knows he must be crazy because he hears music with no idea where it’s from.

The town is quiet so he takes a seat on the side of the road and picks through the bag - night things, food and sandwiches, water. Probably the heaviest thing is the red-and-white ball that he weighs in his hand before putting everything else back.]

Think I finally lost it.

[He looks next to the comm device and looks it over. He was never good at these things, he’d be laughed at if his former classmates saw him.]

Trailing off, Cynthia stared up at the occasional towering structure and the sheer scope of the city. Sure, she'd grown up in Ylisstol, but this was something entirely different. This city was beyond what Cynthia could have ever really imagined, even after coming to Johto. After all, Violet was the biggest city she'd been to so far, and between the smaller size and the more traditional buildings-it honestly reminded her more of home than of *this* city.

Glancing behind her at her Swablu-that honestly looked just as worn out after over a week trekking from Azalea to here-Cynthia offered a smile. "Have you ever been here, Cotton?" The pokemon chirped lightly, a noise that Cynthia took as a 'no.' "Well, it should be fun! Let's find something to eat-come on!" Offering up its pokeball, Swablu made a clearly more agreeable noise this time before Cynthia recalled him.

The city, of course, was perhaps a bit too much to handle. Soon the girl was lost, having wandered down one or two of the wrong roads-which led to her trying to get the attention of the next person she ran into. "Hey! Can you help me find my way to the pokecenter?" Hopefully, they'd be helpful-if they were the shadier sort, Cynthia was capable of giving them a battle, but her pokemon were pretty tired.
